Finally, a
Digital Camera Product Review for the Rest of us...
I have been looking for the ideal camera for my dad, who is
in his
80s. He still clings to his old film camera, and jokes to me about the
wonderful photos it takes.
Sure he takes great photos - but he only takes a dozen photos per year!
I am not sure if it's because of the cost, or just the hassle of buying
film and then taking the film in for processing.
I think it is time for me to introduce my dad to the exciting
world of digital photography!
Now, to say that my dad is technically challenged would be an
understatement. He
is a wonderful man who still likes doing things the old way - I am sure
you still know someone who prefers to pay a visit to the bank teller to
pay the bills and withdraw cash. (Please don't tell me that my dad is
the only one who still does this!) David's Choice - Nikon Coolpix L18
I made it my mission to find the most "easy to use" camera available
and after much research, both on-line and off, I finally narrowed it
down to something I am sure he will like and have alot of fun with - the
Nikon Coolpix L18.

I should
be fair. This camera is not only suitable for technically challenged
seniors, it is great for anyone who would like an inexpensive
camera that is easy to use and takes great pictures.
My background is Engineering and I reluctantly admit that I am a
techno-geek. I like well-engineered products that are designed with the
end-user in mind. I have always enjoyed researching purchases to the
point where I know more than the people who sell them.
The rest of this article talks about why this camera is ideal for folks
like my dad, who are looking for a digital camera that is
simple and easy to use. next
